Requiring cancellation reasons

  • Share

This setting ensures that every cancellation in the POS requires a reason. You can also define predefined cancellation reasons, which staff must select during the order process. This creates transparency and proper documentation.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Open the menu in the top left corner.

  2. Go to Settings → Restaurant Settings → Configuration → Menu Settings.

  3. Enable Require cancellation reasons.

  4. To add predefined reasons:

    • Go to Menu Editor → Order Notes.

    • Click Create.

    • Select Cancellation as the type.

    • Enter the desired reason (e.g. “Broken item”, “Cancelled”).

  5. When cancelling an item, staff must now select one of these reasons.

  6. The chosen reason will also be printed on the cancellation slip.

💡 Tip: Mandatory cancellation reasons help prevent mistakes and misuse.
